LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2005--
At this week's International Consumer Electronics Show (CES),
Mobile Action, the developer of Handset Manager, the world-leading
brand of mobile management software, announced a distribution
agreement with Technocel, one of the largest manufacturers and
distributors of cellular phone accessories in the United States.
Handset Manager is already the leading wireless-to-PC data sharing
solution in Europe and Asia, and this distribution deal marks Mobile
Action's entry into North America. Technocel will display Handset
Manager at CES in South Hall, Booth 31139.
Technocel also will display the new CDMA-compatible version of
Handset Manager v8.0. Mobile Action is introducing the CDMA version at
CES as part of its North American marketing launch. Handset Manager is
already offered in a GSM-compatible version through retailers,
carriers and OEMs in Europe and Asia. Handset Manager currently
supports more than 500 of the most popular cellular phone models from
Nokia, Motorola, Siemens, SonyEricsson, Panasonic, Sagem, Sharp,
SAMSUNG, Kyocera, Sanyo, Audiovox and LG.
"Technocel is the perfect partner to help us launch Handset
Manager in North America," said Fitzwilliam Yang, brand manager for
Mobile Action. "We recognize that American consumers rely extensively
on their wireless carriers for accessories, and Technocel has strong
relationships with both carriers and retailers, which means Mobile
Action will be able to quickly gain strong market penetration for
Handset Manager."
Handset Manager allows cellular phone customers to share files and
manage features on their mobile phones from their personal computer.
Handset Manager v8.0 includes support for sharing of Outlook and
Outlook Express address information (.csv files), calendar
synchronization, a picture editor to manage cell phone pictures and
wallpaper, an audio composer to create customized ring tones, an MMS
composer for multimedia messages, and PC-to-cellular file sharing.
Mobile Action currently offers Handset Manager software with USB
(universal serial bus), infrared and Bluetooth-compatible connectivity
hardware.
"We have already had a very positive response from our pre-CES
promotion, and we expect more retailers to sign up to stock the new
version of Handset Manager during the show this week," said Adrian
Hunt, vice president and general manager of Technocel. "We also
anticipate that many of our carrier partners will start stocking
Handset Manager in their storefronts before the end of the quarter.
Handset Manager is the ideal complement to our growing line of
wireless phone accessories."
