Step 1:
Find MP3 tracks on your computer
Then load one or more into the working area. |
| |
 |
| These steps assume everything is connected and the MP3 Clipper part of the Data Suite is open. |
| |
| Last edition we explained why MP3 and Video Clipper components of Force Technology's Data Suites were important for in-store demos, now it's time to show how easy they are to use. |
| |
Once you install the Data Suite/Handset Manager software, it's a matter of connecting your mobile using a USB cable, Bluetooth or Infra Red depending on which kit you're using.
After things are up and running the first time, you're always only a few steps away from fresh content on your mobile. |
| Funniest Phone Videos |
|
| Whether it be footage from a special occasion copied onto computer, promotional work material or those thousands of those silly/funny/ rude/bizarre videos that always do the rounds on email - most of these can be carried and played on the right mobiles. All you have to do is convert them, perhaps even just pick out the best bits using Video Clipper. |
| Get your groove on! |
|
| Even more exciting is adding a really personal touch to the way your mobile sounds. Perhaps that favourite tune* from your 21st birthday that still isn't available as a polyphonic ringtone, let alone in MP3 format. |
|
Step 2:
Find the chorus, sound effect or special words to clip You can preview and change until right. |
| |
 |
| |
Or another hidden gem, making short five second SMS alerts, limited only by your imagination. Basically most things that you can play or hear on a computer can be used. It's pretty easy to even record new words/sound by hooking up a mic or tape recorder to your computer.
Since having an almost unlimited range of alert options that the MP3 Clipper provides, we've started looking at handsets differently. Checking if each model provides a customised SMS option and if a phone plays MP3 ringtones. These are now part of our top ten things to look for. |
| |
| Dare to be different |
|
| Gaining total creative control over how you phone rings or tells you a text message has come in can be a little inspiring. Especially as members of the mobile industry we all have to lead by example. |
| |
| Bigger picture |
|
| There's also a bigger picture. All this sort of stuff is fine to play with if you're a bit gadget minded but the ultimate influence is likely to be better empower customers and sell more phones with MP3 ringers. This product is essential for in-store demos. |
|
Step 3:
Press the phone button to send to handset or save it for later |
| |
 |
| |
 |
| The Video Clipper component is great too. Convert most formats of video from your computer to watch on phones with video playback. |
| |
 |
| Force will soon be distributing a new product called FoneJoy. It's basically an iTunes type PC music player and library organiser, but with a nice twist. It connects to your music mobile and simplifies dragging and dropping music by playlist onto the phone. More next edition... |
